Marni at H&M VIP party

Last night I went to the Marni at H&M VIP party which was a blast, met with a lot of friends, socialized a big deal and drank two glasses and a mini bottle o champagne (which made me super lovey dovey and funny like a clown/in a girlish cute way, of course). For the first hour I was like hypnotized or enchanted, or something like that, because all I could see where the clothes. Being late for 15 minutes made me loose my chance to buy for myself the silk green printed pants that I wanted so much and replace them with the pink pajama style silk shorts. The white necklaces that I also love where nowhere to be seen (they where out of them in perhaps the first 10 minutes) and the silvery shoes that I had my eyes on where not even seen for the public - my guess is that they where maybe reserved from before.

So it's not about the Marni at H&M clothes that I got to buy, but about the experience and the fun (and the super good music)!

It was really a great night and for a one hour long line at the cash register I'm glad I had so many friends front and back so we could laugh it out.

Got to go now - to the airport - to Barcelona! Where I'm gone shoot some Barcelonian shoes:) just for you!

Starting this season (spring - summer 2012) every box of Charlotte Olympia shoes will have its own polaroid picture with the shoes within. Evidently, this will help any shoeaholic organize his or hers shoes easier and find them a lot more quicker! It will also do justice to those shoes that sometimes remain unworn because we forget about their existence... and we live them hidden in their boxes for ages. So, that's such a good idea, that only a fashionista and a true shoe lover would understand and appreciate.

Thank you Charlotte for being so thoughtful with as shoe gals!

Now thats a good reason to buy some beautiful new Charlotte Olympia!!

Tabitha Simmons spring summer 2012

I used to hate this type of shoe, with ankle strap, but after seing Emmanuelle Alt sporting those beautiful Alaia shoes I thought ... oh, well! they can't be that bad. The reality check factor is that Alt is really tall, and the ankle strap looks cheesy and does not complement a petite figure.

Even so, Tabitha Simmons (who deserves all our attention and who I look up to - because, as you may know, she first started as a fashion stylist and then developed her own shoe brand - a thing that I only hope to accomplish - see her blog here) designed this beautiful collection for spring summer 2012... where the ankle strap shoes are the stars of the collection, in colorful illuminating prints and super-classy heels.

I am now writing from my desk near the window... a window that gives me a very wintery fairy tale all-in-snow vision. And when I saw these dresses by Elie Saab I could almost cry, just imagining me in a pale green one... swimming through the white big snow. It's really freezing here, but all I'm thinking is that if I was Lykke Li filming I follow rivers I would have worn Elie Saab Couture...freezing my brain off but looking totally fabulous, from another world.
Now call me crazy. I don't care. I am allowed to dream whatever.

Giambattista Valli proved himself as an artist of the fine fabrics with this beautiful Haute Couture collection.

Just when I thought nothing can compare these chiffon, classic, extremely feminine and mysterious dresses, I saw this one... that used a masculine design cut shirt with the softest and sheerest of the fabrics on the sleeves. I would love this as a shirt - for work days when I want to feel so confident - for great parties where I want the shine...

The H&M The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo enters one single store in Romania, on the 14th of December, - H&M Unirea Shopping Center, Bucharest.
With 30 pieces designed by Trish Summerville, the woman who is behind heroin's Lisbeth Salander costumes, the collection brings rough, bad-ass leather jacket and pants, washed-up T-shirts and sneakers, worn-out jeans and denim skirt, but also these beauties right here that I've got my hand on two weeks earlier.

I've already taken them to the club and they've got the raves that they deserve. They are also very comfortable, a thing I didn't know about H&M shoes.

I can't imagine a boot "more perfect" than this! So simple, classic, yet with a biker attitude because of the golden studs. It's exactly what I'm looking for at the moment and can't find anywhere. And believe me! I'm almost every day in shops!! It's my job to be. TinaR brings a smile on your face

TinaR, a Romanian brand that turns 18 years on 10th of May next year, is joyfully gaining new powers with the help of new designers - I will be able to tell you their names pretty soon.

A new store will be opened next week in Piata Romana, Bucharest, followed by two others in Constanta and Arad. Also, for those who love the brand but don't have a store in their city, I'm glad to tell you that in November you will be able to buy the clothes online.

In the spring the brand will be selling shoes also. That's great news!!

A beautiful coral turtle neck sweater soft and nice that I also used in my last photo shoot for Femeia. magazine.

A white ballerina blouse with a soft embroidery collar. I already taken this out in the weekend and it got exactly the attention that I thought it would.

See through shoes are not so flattering because you can see all the fingers squeezed down there, but still, this lace print and the feeling of softness that it gives to me it's just wonderful!

Not like we were expecting anything less, the Prada shoes for the fall/winter collection - in this case, boots, are so bold in making a 60ies statement. The clothes, the hair, the hats... everything says 60s in an obvious but full off admiration tribute to Mondrian bright straight lines and to Yves Saint Laurent's designs from '65.
But these heels don't need to be seen with a Mondrian dress look-alike coat, or with big hair... these heels stand for their own. Even though they scream FASHION, you don't have to be a fashionista to say "YES" to these beauties...

These are my fav!! Snake skin is standing out big time for the next season.

This is my favorite look of the Givenchy Resort 2012 collection and I guess that's because it gives me that feeling that Riccardo Tisci wanted to give to people when he created it. The collection states vacation, but in a sporty way: notice the tiny cropped sweater, the baseball cap and the orange sport bag. She could use a pair of gloves too.

The floral print ( as can see in the mirror) is perfectly used on the cut sandals, feeling like a double mirror image with the dress. I can't wait to see which ones make the stores.

Tim Blanks from Style.com talked so beautifully about the first Alaia collection in 8 years(fall 2011), that made me search trough fashion history and read all about the shy genius that is Azzedine Alaia. The 71 years old Tunisian-born couturier is talked as an alchemist in 1992 May Issue of Elle and as the "Little big man" in the New York Times Style Magazine 2006.

When I first saw the autumn 2011 collection I felt like I'm at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, tiny and invisible, seeing through my invisible cloak - everybody who's anybody, but in a time when la creme de la creme gathered in a such elegant and cultural place to unify their stylish beings in one core... In this dream they are all wearing Alaia and can't wait to unclothe, to take off their coat-dresses only to show long black latticed velvet dresses...

Here are my favorite pieces of the collection.

Talking about the shoes. Here is Emmanuelle Alt wearing her favorite Alaia lace up shoes. I even found an article on a blog which stated that she should get out of them because she worn them out, taking them absolutely everywhere. I'm not sure if the person writing the post has any idea how much these cost. With a price tag of almost 1000 euro, when you buy an Alaia pair of shoes is like buying from 4 to 8 pairs of anything else. So you have to take them out, a lot!

These ... a bit freaky, can't walk into shoes (actually the girls could walk in them) are designed by Dana Iuga for an Andra Clitan show and where used again for a show for I.D. Sarrieri lingerie night at Gaia Club. The fantasy with sexy courtesans wearing this kind of shoes was more than sugar for everybody's eyes. They even had a cradle made of flowers in which they could swing over the bar, over everybody's head. Now isn't that alluring?

Andreea Badala is one of my favorite Romanian designers. You can see she really knows what she's doing. And that's not just because she was an intern at Alexander McQueen, but because, besides the clothes, she knows how to express them in her shows, how to bring them in the spotlight in a glamorous way that doesn't make them loose their originality and their mystery...

Most of all, I appreciate the continuity in the evolution of Murmur, her brand.
The show at MNAC's annex on Calea Mosilor 62-68 was made in collaboration with LUNDI et DEMI (designer Ciprian Tocu and architect Attila Kim) and it was about sensuous women, living in a free world, hidden behind a flaxen linen, that was showing only their body lines, showing them in their intimacy, taking their clothes off, letting everything behind...

I just loved everything: the atmosphere, the music, the clothes. Here are some pictures to show you details of Andreea Badala's fall/winter collection. In the nearest future I hope I will buy the long black dress...

Fetish is a theme that repeats itself in Andreea's clothes.

My favorite dress is black, long, jersey made with bottom up heart shaped lace in front of the chest... it's more than sensual... it's sexy but in a hidden dark way...

When I saw the Miu Miu fall collection I though I have to write a post and tell you NOT to do that to your feet... but then I found these and all my thoughts vanished...

The facts are: these Miu Miu will bring sparkle to your feet. More than that, they will take all the attention. My only problem is that while these are perfect for a model, with the cut exactly below the ankle, they won't look so good on thicker legs...
My suggestion is never to buy shoes only because you consider them perfect. Perfect is only what suits you!

If you are a big hobbyist than I admit you can buy them and keep them on a shelf... they will definitely be BIG the next season.

My new Il Passo wedge sandals

I took them to the sea, where the sun could shine in the stones, so all the looks could be on them...

They are so easy to wear, and so eye catching, that you can jump and run in them.

Today I'm wearing them at work and they make me feel like in vacation again. More than 10 hours of work are in my plan for this day... some good hours include caring many many shopping bags in stores (I'm working for the July Issue and I've got a lot going on). After hours of breaking my back I'll come back and report about my legs...

Perfect pumps on the perfect occasion

These Ann Taylor pumps are absolutely perfect. And more than that: perfect for me!
They where a present from D, who I was more than lucky to get to know... she's the warmest lady ever!

Tonight I wore them for the first time- I got them earlier today, thinking they don't fit me... but they did. And I had the sexiest legs at Venera Arapu's event for the opening of a new boutique, especially created for young Romanian designers, Vitrina.

I'm curious about Vitrina and can't wait to see more and more young and talented Romanian designers out there. I think it's great and so important that there are people that believe in them and invest in them as: Mirela Bucovicean from Molecule-F, Angelica Dumitrescu from Entrance, Venera Arapu and others. So keep close, maybe next time we'll meet you'll be proudly wearing Andreea Badala, Lucian Broscatean or Rozalb de Mura.

Life in plastic... is it fantastic?

For this summer I've seen so many crazy colored - plastic (actually they are made of rubber) slippers, sandals and ballerinas that I was close to thinking I need a pair too. But remember when I talked to you about buying a new pair of Melissa, and after your commentaries I changed my mind... well this is a reminder to you all! Don't get out of your pocket too much money for this type of shoes... they're not so great to wear when it's really hot outside.

For all the other girls here in Romania that never listen to anybody when they hear "Don't do that!" you can find Melissa in People's Fashion Gallery in AFI Palace Cotroceni at very low prices (103 RON for a peep-toe ballerina in many colors). So go shop some yummy ice cream shoes and come back and report everything to me!

The launch - Foxy & Lita at Chantal

Last week the so dreamed and promises Litas and Foxys where finally in the store, at Chantal. The event was great! Thank you so much Diana and Roxana, and thank you soo much to all the girls that answered my invitation and came to the little event at the boutique.
As Raluca and Eve from The Hearabouts said "LA cool meets European chic. Chantal is a definite stopping point during a Bucharest shopping trip." And that's exactly what Chantal wants to be.
Ioana and Medine couldn't leave without a new pair of Foxys. And they where sooo happy.

Uuuuuu, what do we have here? ....

This is my new pair of Foxy from Chantal. I must say, they feel great in my feet. They have soft cushions on the base, they weight less than you would say just by looking at them and they are comfortable... at least the few minutes that I wore them. I also love the stitch quality. On my vacation to Rome, one week ago, I went to Jimmy Choo and I was so disappointed because of the stitches... that's why, maybe I wasn't expecting so much from a lower cost brand... but well, it is true that people sometimes just buy the name...

My next post will be on my personal styling around my pretty pretty Foxy!

PS: I love the fact that they don't make my feet look chunky at all! I hate big feet(maybe from the time I was reading Cinderella), and I was a bit afraid of that huge heel and platform(thinking they will make my feet look bigger), but they are absolutely feminine and sexy without being vulgar. Love that!

When you wake up in the morning thinking about something that you were thinking when you went to sleep I think it's called that you have an obsession.

Well... my new obsession is this animal print pair of Anniel ballerinas.
I know, you will say I'm undecided, you'll say I don't like animal print. But these simple, comfortable, soft ballerinas made me change my mind. No, that is not enough said... they made me feel exactly the opposite to not liking... which is "being obsessed".
Anniel strikes again! You can find them at Chantal, as you can see (as I just became a supporter of their new site), one of my new favorite boutiques in Bucharest.

The killer heel. Literally

You can never recognize a person that you first met in the club if you meet again in the park or at the supermarket. I'm not talking about all the makeup, the nice clothes, etc... I'm talking about the heels. You won't even identify somebody as being the same person. The person you first met in the club was like... at least 15 cm higher.
So, my advice is not to pick your beloved one in a club. There's too much smoke, too much drink, too much makeup and way too "much" heel.

PS: My friend ordered these from Asos and is getting killer pain because of them. She says they are nice to walk in the club... everybody will notice you... but after 15 minutes, if you don't sit down, there's nothing nice about your pain.

So, despite me not liking it, I'm trying to get used to it... and in a soon future I might even change my mind...with some leopard print ballerinas.

These days where absolutely crazy for me. Not only that I had to run for shoes for the Shopping Report April issue(helping my colleague Monica), but I also had to be a bit of a ... model.

Haha! This time I was the one who got photographed. It was fun, but totally exhausting as I had to try on more than 50 pairs of gorgeous shoes.
This is just a teaser. Our office was invaded by shoes, you literally had to walk on your toes between all the beautiful pairs.

This heel is one obsession that I cannot get out of my head until I will buy some shoes (preferably sandals, because I hope the weather will warm up soon) with this exactly heel. It looks more than gorgeous. And all the owners tell me it's comfortable and ok to walk in, even tough the height may seem a little too much for some of you.

Anyway, because of this obsession of mine, you'll be seeing a lot of this type of heel from now on. I hope the next one will be in my feet!

H&M in Romania, the opening party

I really thought about not writing about H&M coming to Romania. It's not that I am not a fan, but there has been such a big BUZZ that I refused to go with the flow.

Two nights ago I went to the opening party. And really, the party was great!! At the beginning I couldn't see the clothes because of all the Romanian celebrities going back and forth.
I had had a long day and was without heels... (I didn't took this party too serious, I wasn't enthusiastic at all). I regretted that. I was so "petite" next to all the high heels.
Anyway, I bought for myself a beautiful white lace dress inspired from the D&G ss2011 collection. It fits me beautiful even though I hadn't had any time to try it on first because you had to wait more that a half an hour to get into a fitting room.
So today is the BIG day for all H&M lovers in Romania, since it's opening it's flagship store in Unirea Shopping Center. I'm glad the brand it's here. It's nice not to feel left out anymore.

These are the shoes I worn at the party. But really now, there's an explanation why I wasn't wearing any heels. I broke them while I was at the Mall, working my back off for an article I had to do for work. You can see it here. Because the theme was How to wear orange with red I was in the search for colored shoes, clothes and accessories.

I fell in love with these suede orange shoes from the moment I saw them. They are sooo comfortable and cute. I can wear them anywhere (even at the red carpet event for H&M) and I won't even feel I have any shoes on.

I know we are barely putting our feet on spring ground, but when I saw the Marni collection of shoes for this autumn I though that these are cool to wear in spring too.

I really like this collection and I'm pretty sure Asos.com, TopShop, Zara and Mango like it too, I sure hope so.

My favorite are the Mary Janes and the wedges. But most of all I love the heel of the sandals. I'm in the search of such a heel. Can't find it anywhere. I saw something at Zara but the color of the sandals was awful... so what to do? what to do? I need my 15 strong thick heels for this summer!!!!

Dior Tahiti. Caught up betweet an espadrille and a ballerina

I have a problem with these Dior Tahiti from the spring/summer 2011 collection.
What are they supposed to be?
Besides the bright colors (we understand the "Tahiti" in the name), what's going on with the shape? If you don't get it at a first look, pay more attention to the nude pair.
So are they meant to look more like espadrilles or ballet shoes? Because they remind me of both, in a bad bad way...
Is it because we are talking about Dior we should want to pay 1550 dollars on them? If you feel so, here's where you can find them.

This one pair, that is also a part of the Tahiti collection, I like. Orange is such on this season. It's all about the powerful colors. And most of all, I like that they don't hide what they really are: they are platform wedge sandals made of crimson rope laces and citrus-hued suede. They can be yours with 850 dollars, from here.

Kate Middleton's shoes for the Royal Wedding. The designer sketches

You know how everybody has an opinion on who will design THE dress for Kate Middleton's wedding with Prince William. Well, the WWD and me (of course) where wondering who will design the shoes. It's true, maybe we won't even be able to see them (because of who knows how many ruffles or because of a three streets long train). But in this case, the shoes will be like her secret. And in front of so many people to have something for your own (something special) gives you such a positive energy. So good luck in picking sweet Kate. If I was to become a princess I'd give both Georgina Goodman and Manolo Blahnik the chance of touching my precious feet.

So here is how I would pick:

1.Georgina Goodman

Her design: An antique Welsh lace pump with  Scottish seed pearls and pearl-inspired heel. "I wanted to create something special with an intrinsic emotional value; something old and at the same time mirroring Kate’s fresh modernity. ... I have aimed for a balance between history and femininity fitting the occasion; a kind of luxury recycling."

PS: Are there some feather - like details on this shoe or is it just my imagination?

2.Manolo Blahnik

His design: An ivory silk pump with organza lilies of the valley and sea pearls. "It represents springtime and everything fresh and new, which is what Kate Middleton is all about."

3.Cesare Casadei

His design: A single-soled silk pump with jeweled straps and embroidered floral details. "Kate reminds me of a 2011 Audrey Hepburn. ... This elegant design is customized with embroidery and multishaped clear crystals, to create a waterfall of stones dancing down the foot. I can see Kate dancing all night in this ‘new tango’ heel."

4. René Caovilla

His design: A white satin sandal with marabou feathers and multicolor Swarovski crystal gems. "This shoe is fit for a princess because the sandal is elegant, sexy and precious, and it suggests a magical atmosphere."

5.Giuseppe Zanotti

His design: A black satin sandal with large sapphire centerpiece and surrounding diamonds, on a metal-tipped stiletto. "I wanted her shoes to match the classic and sophisticated elements of her ring, but with a younger, modern edge. Jewelry for the feet is my DNA, so designing for a princess comes very naturally."

I really doubt that a classical lady like her will choose black shoes for her wedding day. That's why my last pick are the Giuseppe Zanotti shoes.

The Oscars are one event that everybody, but everybody!, has his or hers eyes on. So it's a good occasion for any brand and any designer to be seen.
Here are my favorites of the night.

Even though we can't see Cate Banchett's shoes I couldn't leave this look out of my selection. The Givenchy Spring 2011 Couture gown is definitely my favorite and she wears it beautifully.

Also, at the top of my list stays Mila Kunis in Elie Saab dress. She looks very sensual but also very delicate. You wouldn't say that's a possibility, but here you have it.

Natalie Portman is eight months pregnant and looks radiant. Of course she took home the Best Actress Academy Award! I mean, she was perfect in "Black Swan".

Her picks for the night: Rodarte dress, which is no surprise, and Jimmy Choo sandals.

Gwyneth Paltrow has an attitude! These Brian Atwood ‘Martina’ gold platforms are to die for! I'm in a big search of this kind of heels right now. If anybody sees some, you know where to find me.

If you don't know exactly who is Hailee Steinfeld it means you haven't seen "True Grit" yet. She managed doing a difficult role and at the age of 14 she has already been nominated for Best Supporting Actress for Academy Awards and as Best Actress in a Leading Role for the BAFTA Awards.

I really don't like this combination that Zooey Deschanel did for the Oscars. The dress is beautiful and the shoes are really sexy but the combination of the two... not so hot. I would have paired the dress with some blue heels.

Alo Chic Meet happened at Entrance, a concept store that brings together Comme des Garcons, the well known Japanese fashion label, with Bold, a romanian label that just made it appearance on the market. You can also find Rick Owens, Fujiwara, Lost&Found or on the Romanian side Rozalb de Mura, David Sanduand and Praf by Laura Vargalui (which I loved).
The event was an "excuse" for fashion talk, great ladies to meet and exchange experiences and their own thoughts on the spring trends. Between all the ladies there were also some gentlemen that made our evening even better Ovidiu Buta, Matei Schwartz (Bold), George Neagu, Eduard Daniel and others.

I've been working on this material for a while now. And now that the snow strikes again I think it's a good time to talk about this time favorites: the UGG boots.

So walking down the streets of Bucharest, looking for some inspiration I saw the UGGs, everywhere UGGs. I was actually wondering how many UGGs do I see every day?
Even if the UGG trend is no longer in fashion, the UGGs are everywhere. And I believe that no matter the trends, the UGG will stay for a long time on the street. That's why today we're talking about them.

There was a time when I really hated the "UGG" boot - not the brand itself, but the well known model. It looked to me like everyone was wearing those horrifying things that made them look like little Panda bears. And why would you want that? I had also heard that the name UGG comes from UGLY. And I believed it.

Anyhow, I don't remember exactly what or who made me buy a pair. And then I knew! The UGG boots are some of the most comfortable things that I ever put my feet into. So soft, so warm, giving me that fuzzy cosy feeling, that I only have when I'm in bed under my blanket. From then on, I became addicted.

And I'm not the only one. The UGG boots have created thousands of addicts around the world. But, like a drug, you know you're not doing the right thing for your look. Yeah, you will say you can look great in UGGs! But come on, stop fooling yourself! They make your feet look 2 numbers bigger, they definitely don't advantage you if you're a bit chubby and they don't look that great with dresses.

No, don't send me some photos of you perfectly pairing UGGs with dresses. It's only because you've got used to them that you think you look cute. And no, don't ask your boyfriend if he thinks you're sexy in UGGs, he'll say anything to keep you happy.

I would have also used a photo of my UGGs but I wore them out, ruined them because of all the snow melting of a few weeks ago. So it's urgent to buy new ones! But I'm in the search of a lower model. Until then my feet are missing the cosy warm fur inside the boots.

New boots

I've chosen them because of practical reasons. They are ok looking but my first criteria was the fact that I could walk in them without thinking that I can fell at every step.
They have a platform and since I have them I haven't slipped at all. That's a must in winter, isn't it?

The leather is great and they are very comfortable. You can also notice the zippers on the lateral sides. They really annoy me because they make a noise hitting each other when I walk. Other than that I'm glad I bought them.

Blak Swan in ballerinas

Last night I saw "Black Swan". For me, it is definitely one of the greatest movies I've seen lately. And I've seen a lot!

I am afraid that trying to describe it I will ruin the pleasure it reserves for you. Also, I am afraid that you won't feel the same about it as I do. But even so, I can't help myself. I must tell you. It was hypnotic. Pure madness. It took me by surprise. My body was unable to move. I had no words after it. I couldn't get up. My knees where week.

Watching the movie I found myself resembling with the crazy Nina, the perfectionist, the obsessed, the possessed. Maybe that's why my hands where shaking at the end. Because I realized that he greatest obstacle ( but also an opportunity, let's not be dramatic ) in our life is our self.

The new SHOPPING REPORT is now out! The magazine is so fresh and young, feels like a breath of fresh air between all the glossy magazines out there smelling like naphthalene that old people use to keep the moths away.

This February SHOPPING REPORT talks about SEX. And I... I talk about my favorite shoe designer... no need to guess, you already know: Christian Louboutin. The simple and the fabulous!

These grey suede pumps are so simple, yet so chic. I came to love this "non almost color" more than a year now. I hated it before. It seemed to me like grey is the color for people who want to go unnoticed... and that was bad. Now I find grey absolutely fabulous and even if you go unnoticed (which I don't feel is such a bad thing now) you still have simplicity on your side. And simplicity is one step closer to perfection!

Anthropologie opens it's largest selection of shoes in Europe in a London store

The American brand opens it's largest selection of shoes ever with over 80 styles on 25 February.
The store is located in London, King's Road, next to it's fashion and lifestyle store.
Anthropology designs range from fun and sexy to casual and original. They really are something else.

The selection contains designer brands such as Surface to Air, Robert Clergerie, Chie Mihara and Maloles. If you didn't know a thing about these shoes now it's a perfect time to see them.

You can buy a pair of Anthropologie shoes at price ranges from £98 - £388.

These are from a collection by monsieur Louboutin especially made for brides. It was a one time collection. Brides all over the world are now searching for Louboutin's "something blue" without any success.
Today, he has a special bridal line, but he uses red soles for them.

Thank you M. for the blue soles, they are really hard to find!

These satin crystal heel Miu Miu's look perfect to me.
The fact is I am in the search for a pair of sandals as simple and as classy as possible. That's why I love this simple narrow bar over the toes. Also, I like that they have this little platform. I wouldn't buy a pair of sandals right now that have no platform.
And at last, the heel... the dreamy champagne bubbles look like heel. The sparkles and the luxury screaming my name...
I know it's not my imagination. They say only one thing: perfection!
